Organized on the Goldenport site, in the GT Club offices, Silk Way Rally presentation took place last Thursday April 25th, at the same time as the International Summit for the “New Silk Roads, One Belt-One Road” project.
A hundred of guests were welcomed by the Organizing Committee and the Chinese Motorsports Federation. A friendly moment followed by a gala dinner with the new Chinese partners of Silk Way Rally 2019.
LIVE FROM THE FINAL RECCES
Winter time having given way to spring, it’s under a beautiful weather that the recces team of the Silk Way Rally have gone to finalize the writing of the road book of this 9th edition.
After a few days around the Baikal lake where the first 2 stages will be run, the recces team have entered Mongolia. “It’s been a long time since Mongolia hosted such a scale rally, it goes back to the 90’s with the Master Rallye” explains Victor Sokolov, SWR route safety Director. “We work in full collaboration with governments and local authorities, our main objective being to make the race safe and I’m sure that competitors will love Mongolia, it’s gorgeous!”
A vision shared by Luc Alphand, Sports’ Advisor of the Silk Way Rally: “pilots will have fun, everything is beautiful, everything is varied, landscapes are magnificent and the welcome of the Mongol population is so touching, this edition is the edition not to be missed!”
After Mongolia, change of scenery, climate and country: the recces team will return to China and tackle the dunes of the Gobi desert which will host the last 3 stages of 2019 Silk Way Rally

The Silk Way Rally 2018, an exceptional TV coverage.
In 2018, more than 74 broadcasters signed TV rights agreements, allowing the Silk Way Rally to be broadcasted in no less than 196 countries and thus to consolidate its worldwide exposure, in particular by broadcasting dedicated programmes on international sports channels, in addition to those on the national channels of the countries crossed.
