Vladimir Chagin

Head of the International Project Silk Way Rally

Vladimir Chagin is a legendary sportsman and one of the most successful racers in the world. He was one of those who established off-road competitions in Russia in the end of 80s and then played a significant role in the development of this sporting field.

In 2015 Vladimir Chagin became the Project Director of Silk Way Rally. Under his guidance the race has grown into a transcontinental marathon, which connected three countries with its route. Furthermore, as a result of his great experience as a rally participant and a team director, Vladimir Chagin was able to conduct the rally of highest level, taking into account all needs of sportsmen, engineers and mechanics.

Frederic Lequien

Project Deputy Director

Frederic Lequien is one of the most experienced rally-raid and sporting broadcasting specialists. In the end of 90s he used to work in the Marketing Department of Eurosport, and then started his career in automotive sport, taking key posts in Organization Committees of world’s largest rallies. Frederic Lequien has been in charge of Silk Way Rally organization for a long time, managing racing and communication issues of the race.

Denis Simachev

Project Creative Director

The famous Russian artist and designer, the permanent guest of Milan Fashion Week, the winner of international fashion and design competitions. In 2015 Denis Simachev joined Silk Way Rally team as a Project Creative Director and created a new visual identity of the competition – the image of White Tiger, which became a symbol of the strength and the courage, protecting sportsmen throughout the longest race in the world. Simachev has also created Silk Way Rally brand clothes and accessory.

Luc Alphand

Luc Alphand started his sporting career from skiing and in 1984, at the age of 19, made his World Cup debut. In 1997 he won the World Cup overall title by collecting points in the two speed disciplines, downhill and super G. He retired from competitive skiing in 1997 and started a career in auto racing. First in the European Le Mans Series, then in the FIA GT Championship and Lamborghini Supertrophy, his achievements were followed one by another. In 2015 Luc Alphand became a Sporting Advisor of Silk Way Rally Organization Committee, taking charge of route creation and communication with competitors and European media. He has also played an important role in creation of rally image on the international scene.
