By the tracks of Silk Way Rally: photography exhibition opened on Tverskoy boulevard

The exhibition “By the tracks of Silk Way Rally” started on Moscow Tverskoy Boulevard on 2nd December. It presents the best pictures shot by Russian and foreign photographers that followed the marathon in July 2016. This is the first outdoor photography project of race Organization, which connected Russia, Kazkahstan and China with the unique racing route.

Before the opening ceremony the Directorate and several race competitors held a working press conference. The event was started by the short speech of Silk Way Rally Creative Director Denis Simachev, then the floor was taken by two-time race champion Ayrat Mardeev from KAMAZ-master team, after that Kostantin Zhiltsov, who took the third place driving MINI car, gave their speeches as well as experienced driver Alexey Berkut. The invited guests, sportsmen and journalists walked along Tverskoy boulevard, reminding the best moments and magnificent sceneries of last rally edition. The exhibition will last until 27th december 2016 and is free for everyone to visit.

At the meantime the reconnaissance of the 7th edition of Silk Way Rally is going on under the support of Toyota. The next rally will be held from 7th to 22nd July 2017, taking off from Moscow Red Square and finishing in Xi’an city – the ancient cradle of Chinese civilization.

One of the main missions of Silk Way Rally is strengthening economic, humanitarian and political relations between Russia, Kazakhstan and China. This concept met the support of general partner of rally – Gazprom, which shares project values and ideas of rapprochement of Eurasian countries.

Denis Simachev, Silk Way Rally Creative Director: «This rally was not only a great sporting event but also a large-scale exploration project. We travelled from Moscow to Beijing — that was challenging but interesting and informative. We visited the cities, which can’t be reached while travelling as ordinary tourists. More than ten thousand kilometers of routes and world’s best teams — that’s breathtaking. Everyone who gets involved in Silk Way Rally falls in love with it forever. Although this exhibition introduces only a little part of our journey, I hope that you will be able to experience even a small shred of our emotions».

Ayrat Mardeev, two-time Silk Way Rally winner: «This year Silk Way Rally became a great event for all sportsmen, very demanding to each competitor — tightest routes, heat, challenges. Thanks to this pictures everyone has an opportunity to experience the race and to see the field of our fight».

Konstantin Zhiltsov, Silk Way Rally 2013 winner: «I’m glad that Organizers continue the story of Silk Way Rally. And today’s event proves that Silk Way Rally exists and will exist for a long time. Each sportsman that takes part in Silk Way Rally won’t be able to give it up. This competition is one of the best in this field of sport and I believe, I have no doubt that in future Silk Way Rally will become the major event in the world of rally-raids».
