History

About the rally

The second edition of Silk Way Rally was conducted within the territory of Russia: from Saint-Petersburg, across Leningrad, Novgorod, Smolensk, Lipetsk, Volgograd and Astrakhan regions, then through Kalmykia and Adygea and finally to Sochi, attracting everyone’s attention to the upcoming Winter Olympics 2014. 
The championship in car category was taken by Carlos Sainz (Spain) for the second time. And another KAMAZ-master’s crew became the strongest in truck class – but this time, driven by Eduard Nikolaev, who managed to overcome Gerard de Rooy (Holand) and Ales Loprais (Czech). The second and third overall went to Vladimir Chagin and Firdaus Kabirov respectively.
